Today we have formally registered our dissent against Brunei’s Corporal Punishment towards LGBT people.

While we acknowledge the non-interference policy on domestic affairs as a manner of conduct between ASEAN member states, we are concerned for the safety and welfare of all LGBTs, including Filipino LGBTs living and working in Brunei Darussalam.

We call upon the Philippine government and UN Human Rights Council Members to take action against acts of violence and discrimination, in all regions of the world, committed against individuals because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
