Meet the Country Coordinator for Switzerland

Morse Caoagas Flores lives in Switzerland and has been living in Europe for the past 16 years. He is from the Province of Cagayan in the Philippines and moved here in Europe, first, as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar for his Graduates studies (Sweden, Germany and Spain) and finally for work with the United Nations Office in Geneva, in the field of international law and human rights.

As a member of the LGBTIQ+ community, it is in Europe where he felt accepted, valued and protected for who he is. It is here where he can proudly be a gay man and at the same time, a servant leader to the Filipino communities.

As a migrant worker and member of the LGBTIQ+ community, we are part of the visible minority that faces multiple forms of discrimination and exclusion in society, even here in Europe and this is the reason why he committed himself to the vision and mission of the Foundation.

As a human rights defender, it is his duty to ensure that “those who have less in life should have more in law” and that we do not “leave no one behind,” especially those who are most vulnerable members of our communities.
