Filipino LGBT Europe – Ayuda sa Amsterdam received 226 letters confirming the need for help
On Friday 30th April 2021, 226 self-declaration letters was received by Ayuda sa Amsterdam team from recipients of weekly Digital Aid – Digital Grocery Voucher.
There are 324 persons enrolled in the Digital Aid Program. Recipients of the aid are those in hardship due to the effects of the covid-19 pandemic. They receive weekly food aid in the form of a digital voucher directly to their mobile devices which they can use to buy food, milk or medicines at any Albert Heijn supermarket nationwide.
“I & my husband, we are both recipients of the help you are giving through the digital aid program. We would like you to know that what you are doing is a big help to us, especially during this pandemic. If its not too much to ask, we would like to ask for an extension, since are still struggling to make both ends meet, because we lost some works due to this crisis.” one of the letter said.
Digital Aid program is a pilot test program started on 19th January 2021 in cooperation with The Netherlands Red Cross scheduled to end on 31 May 2021.
